One of the key ingredients to the stylish professional designs on Inkd is the trained use of typefaces. For most designers, this concept is an old hat, and something intrinsic to good design.  For many businesses newly discovering great design, however,  a myriad of typefaces can seem daunting.

There are a ridiculous number of resources on the web for all the information you could ever hope to ingest regarding fonts and type.  And by ridiculous, I mean literally over 900 and counting, that are at least of some value to one individual.  That individual is Sigurdur Armannsson.

Doing some research on our own upcoming post next week where we’ll start to highlight the Inkd Team’s favorite resources (starting with fonts and type), I happened upon this post on Typographer.org.  That led me to a massive collection of type focused blogs showcased on Font.is,  which I have only begun to vet against my field of font experience.

Sigurdur publishes a list of his favorites font resources and their RSS feeds, then asks for more, and even makes an often updated OPML file available for download. So you can import all those feeds into your favorite RSS reader, sit back, and turn your brain toward type filled numbness for the weekend.
